Teaching self-control skills can be challenging for many dogs, especially young pups like Teddy. But after a few attempts/takes, Teddy was able to maintain his position for a relatively extended period of time.

BTW, can you believe both Teddy and Bruce are Bernedoodles? Amazing variation in the so-called “breed“.

Puppies love to use their mouths. Just like human toddlers. Unlike humans, however, dogs never grow out of using their mouths to discover the world around them. That fact does not mean dogs should be able to mouth/nip/bite humans. Quite the contrary.

Dogs should never put their teeth on humans (unless for very specific training). We humans have the responsibility to teach puppies when it is OK to bite, and when it is not. We teach puppies not to bite with handling skills that tame puppies.
